Read up on some of our biggest takeaways from 2017’s show.
While at Collaborate17, KS2 learned of a few major developments from Oracle. The first big change Oracle announced was a change in the way that they release JD Edwards applications. In the past, Oracle had released a new application every 3 years, offering support for the application for the next 8 years; now, Oracle will instead be offering support for all applications and tools on JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2 until at least 2028.
The second big announcement took form in UX One, Oracle’s innovative framework that allows users receive alerts and analyze these alerts as soon as they occur, rather than on a daily or hourly basis. Other usability enhancements offered by UX One include over 15 new landing pages based on job functions and a new form personalization tool for JD Edwards users.
In regards to hosting, Oracle once again offered attendees a chance to see the Oracle Cloud demo and despite having it ready for dev test environments, recommended that companies wait until it is finished to host their JD Edwards on the cloud. You can learn more about Collaborate18 here.
